Julius Shulman- I chose Julius Shulman for one of my choices for a photographer because I like his style and what he takes pictures of. I like Architectural photography and the way he uses color and lines in his pictures. He uses lines very well and as you can see from this picture you can see the lines of the building run into the lines of the city. I will pay homage to this photographer by taking photos dealing with architecture and by trying to make lines a priority in my photographs.

Nice choices for your homage series. Shulman's images also deal with indoor v. outdoor / private v. public spaces. If you continue with this series I would think beyond the architecture & consider the idea of space. These are also fun in color.
Just a suggestion for places with architectural interest: many libraries are very old buildings that tend to have lots of interest as far as lines and textures; the Capitol Building in Montpelier might also be nice to photograph, if they'd let you. Obviously, you don't have to do this, just some ideas.
Gunnar, two photographers I looked at closes before I chose Strand and Minor. Either way you go could be real fun, I was thinking churches for Shulman, but Jen has some good ideas too. Adams is another good choice, his photos are amazing. If you know of some places that are as cool as his shots definitely go for it!!!
I would go with Shulman myself. I am also a big fan of Ansel Adams. But I think you will find better success with Shulman.
My vote is for Julius Shulman, you have already presented us with shots of architecture and buildings that are excellent.

Gunner, I like your choices and based on your 10 in 10 series I think you could pay great homage to Shulman. You already captured some of the architectual aspect in those shots. Have fun with it.
Gunnar I like your choices. If you are going to do Adams maybe from a ski lift or gondola or maybe eaven from a high bridge or from hiking. There are also a couple of nice waterfalls or possibly Indian Brook or Colchester Pond. If you do Shulman I agree Churches and older buildings are interesting and have a lot of nice architecture. But maybe check out the U Mall. They have some interesting views and lines looking out the windows and cealings etc. Have Fun Missy
